Information We Collect

• UV Data & Location: SafeTan may use your location to provide accurate UV index readings and recommendations. We do not share or sell this data.
• App Functionality & Analytics: We collect usage data, such as the number of sun exposure sessions logged, to improve our service.
• Log Data & Error Reports: Technical information (e.g., IP address, device type, and errors) may be logged to enhance app performance.

Face Photos and AI Analysis

SafeTan allows users to take optional photos for tracking tanning progress. These photos may include the user's face and are stored locally on the device. We do not use facial recognition or collect biometric identifiers.

When a photo is taken, it is also temporarily sent to a third-party AI service (OpenAI) for analysis to assess tanning evenness, depth, and other skin-related feedback. The image is transmitted securely, used only for immediate processing, and not stored by OpenAI after the response is returned.

We do not store these photos on our servers, and no image data is shared with any other third party. Users may delete these photos at any time.
